Kentucky Defeats East Tennessee State

Kentucky kicked off their basketball season Friday, November 12 against East Tennesse State. The Wildcats came into the game heavily favored and showed why as they easily won by a score of 88-65. The three leading scorers for Kentucky were all freshman as Terrence Jones led the way with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Fellow freshman Doron Lamb had 20 points and Brandon Knight chipped in with 17. Kentucky is off to a good start for the season and will play the University of Portland in their next game.

Kanter Ruled Ineligible

Enes Kanter, the freshman center out of Turkey was ruled ineligible by the NCAA and will not be able to play this season for the Wildcats pending an appeal. Kanter was thought to be Kentucky's best player coming into the season but he received cash to play for a professional team in Turkey and that is what led to his ineligible ruling for the upcoming season. Not having Kanter will be a huge blow for the Wildcats, who are without an established big man for the season.
